About This Coffee

A specialty washed Kenyan coffee from the Kiamutuira washing station in Kirinyaga, operated under the Mutira cooperative (founded 1951) and established in 1996. Grown by approximately 600 smallholder farmers on plots of around 0.1 hectares, shaded by macadamia trees. The coffee features SL-28, SL-34, and Batian arabica varieties cultivated at 1650–1700 meters above sea level in volcanic soils. Flavor notes include red grape, citrus, strawberry jam, and a full body.
