This blend features Icatu and Catuai varieties—Icatu being a unique cross between robusta and arabica varieties Bourbon and Mundo Novo. The medium roast highlights chocolatey depth with pastry-like sweetness and subtle cooked cherry notes, offering tasting notes of cherry strudel and honey almond cake.

Founded in 2020 at the onset of the COVID 19 pandemic, Moonwake Coffee Roasters emerged from the passion of two former tech engineers, Ming Wood from Tesla and Mabel Yeung from Meta. What began as Ming's personal coffee project within Tesla's internal coffee club evolved into a full roastery operation after both founders chose to leave their tech careers to pursue coffee full time between 2023 and 2024. Moonwake represents a growing movement of technologists who discovered that coffee roasting offers greater fulfillment than their previous careers, channeling engineering precision into specialty coffee.
