About This Coffee

A single origin coffee from Finca San José, grown by Alejandro Martinez Anaya near Coatepec in the Veracruz region of Mexico at 1,200 masl. The coffee is the Anacafe 14 variety — a cross between Pacamara and a Catimor species — grown on approximately 60 hectares. Processing involves whole cherry fermentation for 18 hours, followed by pulping, washing, and an extended 32-day slow drying under a "Casa Elba" roof structure. Flavor notes include almond, red plum, and cane sugar, with a full body, balanced sweetness, and subtle acidity.

Kaffeekirsche

Kaffeekirsche was founded in 2014 in Berlin Kreuzberg near Adalbertsrasse, beginning a journey that has seen the roastery move and expand multiple times as demand grew. In 2017 the operation relocated to Böckhstrasse alongside a new cafe and bakery, and by February 2022 the main roastery had settled in Tempelhof with an attached cafe, bringing the total to three Berlin locations. All coffee is drum roasted daily, with a focus on single origin Arabica beans sourced from origins including Colombia, where Pink Bourbon from the Cauca region is among the standout lots. Their omni roast philosophy means each coffee is developed to perform across both espresso and filter brewing methods. Signature roasts like the Dark Side Espresso and Gran Galope, known for its full body and lingering sweetness, showcase the range and ambition of their roasting program.
