Gatare is a single origin coffee from Rwanda's Lyamasheke District in the Western Province, sourced from smallholder farmers who deliver selectively-picked cherries to the Gatare washing station — one of the oldest in Rwanda, established in 2003. The Red Bourbon cultivar is grown at 1800 meters altitude and processed using an anaerobic natural method. Harvested between May and August, this filter-roasted coffee offers tasting notes of pineapple, white chocolate, vanilla, and banana, with a banoffee pie finish.
Named after the ancient Roman name for Lisbon, Olisipo Coffee Roasters was founded by Antony Watson and Sofia Gonçalves with a mission to honor their city's history of exploration. They see themselves as modern-day navigators, exploring the world to source unique and high-quality beans from small, independent producers. Their roasting style is dedicated to showcasing the stories and distinct flavors of these origins.
