Yahava KoffeeWorks

About This Coffee

This coffee originates from Finca Villa Betulia in the Huila region of Colombia, specifically in the Magdalena Valley at 1500 meters altitude. The farm is located in Acevedo and is managed by Luis Anibal Calderón, who grows 32 distinct varieties. This particular coffee is made from Gesha variety plants that were originally planted in the 1930s from wild Ethiopian landrace stock. The coffee undergoes natural processing with dry fermentation, where cherries are raked and turned in a parabolic dryer for up to 25 days. The flavor profile features black currant and dark berry notes with sweet raspberry brightness, finishing with cacao nib and dark chocolate aftertaste.

Yahava KoffeeWorks

Yahava KoffeeWorks was founded in Western Australia in 2001 by Dutch explorer and coffee enthusiast Alex Kok, known as the Koffee Baron, who traveled coffee growing regions by motorbike and roasted his discoveries in a Metricup Road shed that quickly became famous. The brand expanded to Singapore in 2011, bringing its adventurous sourcing philosophy and roast to order approach to a new audience, with all products now shipping from a roasting facility on Tagore Lane. Yahava proudly displays its Probat roaster and offers free daily tastings in store so customers can try before they buy, a hallmark of the KoffeeWorks experience. The range spans signature estate coffees from proven origins to limited release Grand Cru lots and seasonal Regional Blends, all exclusively Arabica and roasted by a team that follows the Baron's original methods.
