Guatemala Antigua is a single-origin coffee from various farms in the Antigua region at elevations of 1624 to 1830 meters. This washed process coffee features Bourbon and Caturra varieties with a medium roast level. It presents a smooth, full-bodied cup with clean, bright acidity and notes of milk chocolate, walnut, and caramel.
Uncommon Coffee started as a cafe in Saugatuck, Michigan in 1994, founded by Guy Darienzo and Stephen Keye. In 2021, after 27 years under the original owners, the business was acquired by Bruno Nobre and Mauricio DaSilva, both from multi generational coffee farming families in the Minas Gerais region of Brazil. They had previously supplied beans to Uncommon as partner farmers, making the transition from grower to roaster a natural one. The roastery now serves over 200 businesses across the Midwest. Uncommon is farmer owned and minority owned, and operates with a goal of being landfill free, using BPI certified compostable cups and sleeves throughout.
