Grown in the cool, mist-covered hills of Cobán, Guatemala, this coffee from producer Luis "Wicho" Valdés III features a blend of Caturra, Catuaí, Bourbon, and experimental varietals. The coffee delivers crisp, bright fruit balanced by a sweet praline finish. Valdés brings over 20 years of refinement in cultivation, harvest, and processing, holding an agricultural engineering degree. The farm employs approximately 600 people during peak season.
Brothers Jerad and Justin Morrison founded Sightglass Coffee in San Francisco in 2009, starting from a kiosk inside a 1924 warehouse in SoMa. The name comes from the viewing window on their vintage Probat roaster, a detail that captures the company's commitment to transparency at every stage of the process. Sightglass holds USDA organic certification through CCOF and sources most of its annual coffee from small farms following ecologically responsible practices. The Morrison brothers stepped down from leadership in 2024 after fifteen years, but the roasting philosophy they established, pairing mid century Probat equipment with careful, origin focused profiles, continues to define the operation.
