Spirit Animal Coffee

Spirit Animal Coffee was founded in the fall of 2020 by Kathya Irias and Paul Gromek. With roots deeply embedded in Honduras, the company was born from a bold mission: to shift the balance of value in the coffee industry back toward the farmers. In a system where only about 10% of coffee revenue typically stays in the producing country, they set out to change that. By designing a fully integrated supply chain—from farm to roast to export—entirely within Honduras, they eliminated middlemen and ensured more of the profits return to local communities. Their approach is hands-on and intentional. They roast their coffee at origin, in Honduras, allowing them to maintain full control over quality, freshness, and transparency. By sourcing directly from small, high-altitude farms and applying strict quality controls—such as sugar content testing and careful post-harvest processing—they produce clean, specialty-grade coffee with a purpose.
