17g Coffee

17g Coffee is a not for profit specialty coffee initiative based in the Swiss Alps that grew out of a project at Collège Alpin Beau Soleil where students trained as baristas and built the brand around careful coffee preparation. The name reflects the 17 grams of coffee used in their first recipes and the original group of students who created the project. The team selects beans with transparent sourcing and an emphasis on quality seasonality and traceability and roasts them in small batches for both espresso and filter profiles. All profits are reinvested into development projects at origin aimed at improving quality of life and working conditions for producers. The initiative combines student learning with a social impact focus that showcases ethical sourcing and sustainability in action.
