About This Coffee

This is a single-origin coffee from India, specifically from the Vankachinta village in the Paderu region of Andhra Pradesh. Grown at an altitude of 925 meters, this coffee is the 2025 winner of the Gems of Araku competition, scoring an average of 88.8 SCA points. The coffee is naturally processed and features the S9 variety, a hybrid created by the Indian Central Coffee Research Institute combining Timor, Tafarikela, S.795, Geisha, S.12 Kaffa, and Bourbon varieties. Produced by Korra Mathyaraju and his wife on a 5-acre organic and Fairtrade certified farm. The coffee offers flavor notes of spices, red fruits (particularly cherries), sweet caramel, citrus, berries, chocolate truffles with liqueur, and dry vermouth. It is described as surprisingly fruity, dense, sweet, and well-balanced.
