About This Coffee

A certified organic Robusta coffee from the Idukki region in Kerala, India, grown by the MASS cooperative consisting of 837 smallholder farmers. Harvested December through February at 700 meters altitude using washed processing. Dark roasted with full-bodied, spicy flavor notes that are characteristic of Indian coffees. The coffee displays depth and complexity typical of dark roasted Robusta beans, with a subtle spiciness.

Brühbar

Brühbar is a specialty coffee roastery in Leipzig's Plagwitz district, run by roasting master and certified coffee sommelier Peter Dorndorf. Trained in Vienna, Dorndorf has devoted close to two decades to sourcing and roasting single origin Arabica beans from Africa and Central America. The roastery is organically certified and roasts on a drum roaster inside its corner shop on Weißenfelser Straße. Dorndorf follows the Scandinavian roast profile, favouring light roast grades that preserve the beans' natural fruit and floral notes. Guests can try every coffee brewed through more than ten methods, from V60 and siphon to Aeropress. Dorndorf also runs workshops and seminars, sharing what he has learned about the roughly 800 aromas locked inside an Arabica bean.
