K&B Kafferosteri

About This Coffee

Medium roasted coffee from Sumatra, Indonesia, grown at 1200-1450 meters altitude in the villages of Bewarang and Jagong Jeget in Aceh, on the northern end of Sumatra. This coffee is produced by smallholder farmers cultivating a total of 308 hectares. The varieties are Typica and Caturra, Grade 1. It undergoes semi-washed processing known locally as "giling basah," where cherries are depulped and beans ferment with their fruit flesh for 18 hours, then washed and dried to 30% moisture content before being hulled and further dried. The coffee undergoes triple picking—a meticulous sorting and cleaning process performed three times before bagging. The cup profile features classic spicy tones, lively acidity, and well-structured body with earthy and spicy flavors.

K&B Kafferosteri

A newly launched micro roastery based in Laholm, in Sweden's southwest, K&B Kafferosteri works exclusively with specialty grade coffee grown under fair conditions. The operation is small, focused, and still building its presence, with an emphasis on transparency and control across the coffee process. Current offerings include lots from Costa Rica's Finca Sebastian Mileno among other origins. Free shipping applies to orders over 500 kronor within Sweden. Details remain sparse as the roastery finds its footing, but the commitment to quality sourcing and careful roasting is evident from the outset.
