Sapan Minanga is a sub-region of Tana Toraja on Indonesia's Sulawesi Island, where coffee has been grown since the 1850s by smallholder farmers. The Catimor varietal is cultivated at 1,300 meters altitude and processed using the wet hulled (giling basah) method, producing an exceptionally full-bodied coffee. The cup profile features herbal notes with bright, citric acidity and chocolate undertones, offering more complexity than typical Sumatran coffees.
Founded in 1986 by Oren Bloostein, Oren's Coffee pioneered specialty coffee in New York City as the original roaster championing direct sourcing and in store roasting before these practices became industry standards.
