Pouponne & Loulette

About This Coffee

This organic coffee is cultivated in the Aceh region of northern Sumatra, Indonesia, at altitudes between 1200-1600 meters. The producer is Ihtiyeri Keti Ara and attached farms. The varieties include Tim-tim, Ateng, and Gayo 1 arabica. The coffee cherries are processed using the wet hulled method, typical of this Indonesian origin, and the beans are dried under cover with regular turning to ensure homogeneous and quality drying. The flavor profile features stone fruit notes, full body, and low acidity with intense, spicy characteristics.

Pouponne & Loulette

Pouponne & Loulette is an artisanal specialty roastery based in Fribourg, founded by Camille, a former forensic scientist who left her career to pursue coffee. The story began when she bought a small roaster for home use, then trained with roasters in Basel and Copenhagen before striking out on her own. Her roastery operates within the restaurant Les Menteurs, where she carefully selects beans for their flavor qualities and adapts her roasting to each coffee's origin and fermentation process. The focus is on traceability, fair producer compensation, and environmentally responsible production. Pouponne & Loulette offers freshly roasted specialty coffee for both espresso and filter preparation, in whole bean or ground. It is a personal, hands on operation shaped by curiosity and a commitment to doing things with integrity.
