This Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee is grown in the nutrient-rich, mountainous soil of Jamaica at elevations over 7000 feet. It is a washed coffee made from No. 1 Premium Beans, handpicked and carefully sorted by local farmers. The beans are roasted to a medium-dark level, producing a medium-bodied cup with tasting notes of brown sugar and grapefruit. This is a 100% single origin coffee, certified by the Jamaica Agricultural Commodities Regulatory Authority (JACRA), traded directly with the growers.
Caribbrew was founded by Beverly Malbranche, operating since 2018 in Newark, New Jersey, with a mission to showcase and promote coffee from the Caribbean islands. The roastery focuses exclusively on Caribbean origins including Jamaica, Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, and Haiti, sourcing through direct trade relationships with farmers and cooperatives. All coffee is roasted in small batches to highlight the unique flavour profiles of each island's growing regions. McCurdy has built the business around educating customers on Caribbean coffee history and culture alongside retail, wholesale, and online sales.
