Moonwake Coffee Roasters

About This Coffee

This whole bean coffee is a Gesha variety from Huila, Colombia, grown at 1750-1800 meters altitude on Motta Farm. The coffee undergoes an anaerobic washed process combining gentle aerobic fermentation, 24-hour sealed anaerobic fermentation, and 18-20 day raised bed drying. The light roast presents candied strawberry, hawflake candy, orange, and hibiscus notes with a creamy body and complex flavor profile that retains varietal character.

Moonwake Coffee Roasters

Founded in 2020 at the onset of the COVID 19 pandemic, Moonwake Coffee Roasters emerged from the passion of two former tech engineers, Ming Wood from Tesla and Mabel Yeung from Meta. What began as Ming's personal coffee project within Tesla's internal coffee club evolved into a full roastery operation after both founders chose to leave their tech careers to pursue coffee full time between 2023 and 2024. Moonwake represents a growing movement of technologists who discovered that coffee roasting offers greater fulfillment than their previous careers, channeling engineering precision into specialty coffee.
