About This Coffee

A washed coffee from the Nandi area in the western part of Kenya's Rift Valley, grown at approximately 1,850–1,900 meters altitude. Produced by more than 900 smallholder farmers supplying cherries to the Kaabirer Farmers Cooperative Society station, established in 1986. Varieties include SL-28, SL-34, Ruiru-11, and Batian. Processed using the washed method with 12–24 hours fermentation and dried on raised African beds for 10–20 days. Flavor notes of blackcurrant, blackberry, and pomelo with bright acidity and a rich body. Graded AA for bean size (7.2mm+). Light roast, recommended for filter preparation.

Founded in 2010 by brothers Martin and Karel Kozl in Liberec, Nordbeans has become a major supplier for Czech businesses including the renowned Ambiente restaurant group. They operate three cafes and a bakery famous for their artisan bread in Liberec. The family roastery recently traveled to Guatemala with partners to visit coffee farmers, producing a limited batch of Orange Bourbon coffee from the trip. Their commitment to origin relationships and quality has made them a cornerstone supplier in Czechia's specialty coffee scene.
