This coffee is grown on the beautiful Kamajumba peninsula, approximately 22 hectares in size, located on the shores of Lake Kivu in the Gihombo sector of Rwanda. The coffee is hand-picked and wet-processed at Kivubelt's Coffee Washing Station, then sun-dried on African beds. Kivubelt was founded in 2011 by Furaha Umwizeye Teuscher. The volcanic soils and humid equatorial mist from Lake Kivu create an ideal terroir for growing specialty coffee. Over 500 families deliver their cherries to the washing stations annually.
Beanatic Coffee Roasters is a specialty roastery near Zurich, born from more than 20 years of experience in IT and a growing obsession with coffee. The name fuses "bean" and "fanatic," and the team embraces that identity fully. They roast on two induction drum roasters, working exclusively with specialty grade green coffee and refining each batch with care. The roastery is driven by an ongoing pursuit of new coffees, new technologies, and new approaches to the craft. For Beanatic, quality has to be present from the raw bean onward. The result is a focused operation that treats roasting as both science and sensory art.
