Schvarz Kaffee

Arthur Fuchs and Erkan Karakaya founded Schvarz Kaffee in 2015 in Düsseldorf's Flingern Nord district, establishing their roastery inside the historic Alte Farbwerke industrial complex. The team sources beans directly from small farms and cooperatives with a focus on long standing relationships, sustainability, and fair pricing across multiple origin countries. Their creative identity shines through blend names inspired by airport codes: VRN for Verona, FLR for Florence, LAX for Los Angeles, and DUS for their home city. Head of Coffee Luthfan Satrio Pradipto, an Indonesian coffee professional, won the 2024 German Brewers Cup Championship and represented Germany at the World Brewers Cup in Chicago that same year. Fuchs and Karakaya also co founded QUBE, an Indonesian specialty coffee importer, further deepening their connection to origin and giving Schvarz an unusually direct pipeline to exceptional Southeast Asian coffees.
