A washed Kenya AA from Mutheru Factory, a small washing station in Meru County serving local smallholder farms at 1600–1800 m.a.s.l. Ripe cherries are hand-sorted, depulped, fully washed, and slow-dried on raised beds. Varieties include the Kenyan classics SL-28 and SL-34 alongside Ruiru-11. Roasted light for espresso, the cup offers flavors of blackberry, gooseberry, and crisp grape, with well-structured acidity, refined sweetness, and a gentle floral lift.

Fjord Coffee

Kresten Thøgersen, Morgan Love, and James Maguire founded Fjord Coffee in 2016, born from a collaboration between the Father Carpenter and Silo cafe teams who pooled resources to build a shared roasting operation. The roastery is located in East Berlin, where the team works on a cast iron Probat roaster using a unique combination of conduction and convection methods. Their Nordic style roasting philosophy draws out naturally sweet and vibrant flavors while showcasing the diversity of regions and processing methods from origins including Brazil, El Salvador, Colombia, Kenya, Guatemala, and Ethiopia. Direct trade relationships with farmers go beyond simple sourcing, often extending to the creation of experimental lots developed in partnership. In 2023, Fjord and Father Carpenter formally separated, with each pursuing its own roasting identity while retaining the collaborative spirit that brought them together.
