This naturally processed coffee originates from Kokose Kebele in the Bensa region of Sidama, Ethiopia, grown at 1800-1960 meters elevation. Sourced from a single farm operated by Solomon Hamiso, the coffee features varieties 74158 and 74112. Processed naturally with density sorting and hand sorting on drying tables, followed by prolonged sun drying. Light roast with vibrant berry-forward flavor profile including red grape and pomegranate notes wrapped in creamy sweetness.
Founded in 2020 at the onset of the COVID 19 pandemic, Moonwake Coffee Roasters emerged from the passion of two former tech engineers, Ming Wood from Tesla and Mabel Yeung from Meta. What began as Ming's personal coffee project within Tesla's internal coffee club evolved into a full roastery operation after both founders chose to leave their tech careers to pursue coffee full time between 2023 and 2024. Moonwake represents a growing movement of technologists who discovered that coffee roasting offers greater fulfillment than their previous careers, channeling engineering precision into specialty coffee.
