CGLE-17 is a hybrid of Geisha and Caturra, sourced from Las Margaritas farm in Caicedonia, Valle del Cauca, Colombia at 1611-1661 meters elevation. The coffee is washed processed with a meticulous fermentation technique: 18 hours in open tanks followed by 24-hour aerobic fermentation, then dried in mechanical driers at 38°C. Tasting notes include honeysuckle, kumquat, and matcha with bright orange citrus acidity and creamy finish. Light roast with clean, vibrant flavor profile.
Founded in 2020 at the onset of the COVID 19 pandemic, Moonwake Coffee Roasters emerged from the passion of two former tech engineers, Ming Wood from Tesla and Mabel Yeung from Meta. What began as Ming's personal coffee project within Tesla's internal coffee club evolved into a full roastery operation after both founders chose to leave their tech careers to pursue coffee full time between 2023 and 2024. Moonwake represents a growing movement of technologists who discovered that coffee roasting offers greater fulfillment than their previous careers, channeling engineering precision into specialty coffee.
