This dark roasted blend combines coffee from Mexico (Mico de Noche) and Colombia (Dulima). Both components are washed processed. The blend features tasting notes of cherry cordials, praline, and rich chocolate. Created as an homage to Lexington Market, one of the world's longest running markets located in Baltimore.
Black Acres was established in 2018 by Travis Bell in Baltimore's Station North district. The Black owned roastery specialises in single origin and blended coffees, roasting all beans in house in small batches and sourcing ethically from South America and Africa with an emphasis on supply chain transparency. The business is part of Ignite Capital's social entrepreneur network and provides training programmes for employees covering coffee knowledge, customer service, and manufacturing. Alongside its retail locations at Open Works and Lexington Market, the roastery offers local Tuesday afternoon deliveries and direct to consumer subscriptions.
