About This Coffee

A 100% Arabica coffee from the Tarrazú region of Costa Rica, grown at 1500 meters on the slopes of the Tacuotarí mountains by the Vindas brothers on 60 hectares. Varieties include Red Catuai and Caturra. Processed at the Palmichal micro-mill with approximately 80% mucilage retained during drying — dried for 10 days on cement patios, then finished in a drum dryer for uniform moisture. After two months resting in parchment, it was dry-milled and sorted. Flavor notes of red currant and red bell pepper, medium strength.

Elstermühle

Annette and Mario Rose opened Elstermühle in November 2018 in Leipzig's Bachviertel neighbourhood, bringing a distinctive roasting philosophy to the city's growing specialty scene. Their approach centers on the principle that "the first is better," ending every roast after the first crack rather than pushing to the second, yielding golden brown beans with fine fruity notes and naturally low acidity. Every batch is roasted by hand in small quantities and packed into aluminum free aroma bags, maintaining a hands on artisanal process from start to finish. They source green coffee from origins including Colombia, and celebrate Leipzig's deep coffee house heritage through their Leipziger Käffchen blend. Monthly limited edition "Coffee of the Month" releases keep the offering fresh, while the on site cafe lets visitors watch the roasting unfold in real time.
