MOONSHINE

About This Coffee

MOONSHINE is a blend combining Colombia's Jairo Arcila Watermelon Co-Ferment with Uganda's Bukonzo Dream from the Rwenzori Mountains. The Colombian component uses Castillo variety beans with 48 hours of dry anaerobic fermentation with fresh watermelon. The Ugandan component features SL14 and SL28 varieties, naturally sun-dried on highland beds. Grown at 1500-2000 meters above sea level. The blend delivers bright, juicy and expressive characteristics with watermelon candy, ripe lychee and tangy raspberry notes woven through silky, tropical sweetness. The Ugandan coffee adds structure and clarity with citrus brightness, gentle floral hints, and a round, juicy mouthfeel.

Catalyst Coffee

Catalyst Coffee was founded in late 2016 by Alexander Gkikas in Holborn, London. The roastery operates a 12kg Diedrich housed in the basement beneath the café, visible to customers through glass floor panels. After initially adopting an omni roast principle with a single profile for all brewing methods, the team switched to two distinct profiles for espresso and filter based on customer feedback. Direct trade offerings include Finca La Lomita from Colombia's Valle del Cauca, where no chemicals, fungicides, or herbicides are used. The café serves espresso, batch brew, and pour over, and was named among 11 London coffee shops recognised as the best in the UK for 2026.
