Curve Coffee Roasters

About This Coffee

This coffee is from the Pedregal and Inza areas within the Inza municipality of Cauca Department, Colombia. Produced by various small-holder growers who are members of the Asorcafe association, cultivated at altitudes between 1500-2100 meters above sea level. The coffee is a blend of mixed Arabica varieties including Caturra, Typica, Catuai, Tabi, Castillo, and Pink Bourbon. It is washed processed: de-pulped, fermented for 20-40 hours depending on weather conditions, washed, and dried in parabolic dryers for 8-15 days. The cup profile is syrupy and sweet with juicy red plum and brown sugar notes. The name "Suukala" means sweet or sugary in the indigenous Wayuu language, representing the high sweetness in these carefully produced coffees.

Curve Coffee Roasters

Tereza and Jon founded Curve Coffee Roasters in early 2016 in Margate, Kent, after meeting while working at a small London roastery. Jon first encountered specialty coffee while working at a high end equipment store in Sweden and went on to become a head roaster. Tereza's focus lies in responsible sourcing, ethical marketing, and sustainability across the supply chain. The roastery started at the back of a Margate cafe and has grown to a team of 15 with a customer base extending across Kent, London, and beyond. Sourcing runs on direct partnerships, including with El Zapoteco Cafe in the Sierra Juarez of Oaxaca, Mexico, and the Colombian exporter Siruma. The preference is for showcasing individual coffee profiles rather than blending.
