Ninga is a Burundi lot from Muramvya (1,800–2,000 m), a Bourbon field blend processed as a washed coffee and harvested June 2024. Cup characteristics include apricot and persimmon with a marmalade-like tartness that evolves to lemon meringue, baking spice and toffee; the cup shows bright, tea-like viscosity and sweet-to-sharp development. The lot was processed at Ninga Washing Station with single fermentation and extended drying on raised African tables.
Prestin Yoder founded Flower Child as a small roasting and green buying project after years working in specialty coffee. The operation runs out of Oakland, focusing on limited releases rather than a permanent lineup. Yoder roasts light but fully developed targeting clarity, and sources directly from farmers. The emphasis on farmer compensation and ongoing dialogue with producing partners shapes both the selection and the pricing. Coffees are curated for cleanliness, vibrancy, and origin expression, with lots from Ethiopia, Kenya, Burundi, Colombia, or Ecuador appearing frequently.
