This blend combines 50% natural-processed coffee from Finca El Porvenir in Albán-Cundinamarca, Colombia with 50% fully washed coffee from Federación Campesina Cauca, Colombia. The blend features shade-grown Colombia, Typica, Caturra, and Tabi varieties grown at altitudes of 1,600 to 1,700 meters. The natural-processed component from Hacienda El Porvenir includes Caturra, Tabi, and Colombia varieties, while the fully washed component features Caturra and Typica beans from Cauca. The coffee is sweet and well-balanced with hints of chocolate when brewed as espresso. With whole milk, it develops smooth and full-bodied characteristics with notes of caramel, chocolate, and almond.
Milly, a Colombian from a generation of coffee growers, founded Colombia Coffee Roasters in Oxford. The company sources 100 percent arabica from her family farm and neighboring high altitude farms in Colombia, maintaining direct relationships that guarantee both quality and fair conditions. Roasting happens in house on a Giesen roaster at their facility in Wheatley, just outside Oxford. The Covered Market location was voted Best Cafe in Oxford in 2022 by the Oxford Mail, and a second cafe in Summertown took second place in the same awards. The approach spans the full tree to cup chain: sourcing, roasting, and brewing, with multiple brew methods available in the cafes including syphon, V60, Chemex, and AeroPress.
