About This Coffee

This coffee is sourced from Xiding village in Menghai County, Yunnan, China at 1700 meters altitude. It is processed by the Xiding Washing Station. The beans are Typica variety and undergo a two-stage anaerobic washed process with 72 hours total fermentation time. The process includes 24 hours of dry fermentation, followed by secondary fermentation alternating between dry and wet methods, and 7 days of slow, low-temperature drying on raised beds. The coffee is named after the Purple-Leaf Caturra varietal known for exceptional quality in Xiding, referring to the young leaves that have a rich purple hue. The flavor profile features rooibos tea, apple blossom, and ume notes with bright acidity and a clean, tea-like character.
