This coffee is sourced from India, specifically from the western coastal regions of Karnataka, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu. It is a Cherry Robusta variety with high oil content that produces a beautiful and stable crema. The coffee is taken into the second crack for a full French roast, delivering an intense, extra-dark, smoky taste with low acidity. Flavor profile includes bold notes of caramel and dark chocolate. This Indian Cherry Robusta contains double the levels of caffeine compared to typical arabica coffees and is ideal for espresso blends.

Grain & Grind opened its first coffee shop at the start of 2018 beneath the old Victoria Infirmary buildings on Battlefield Road in Glasgow. A roaster was installed in that original shop and later relocated to Inverness, where master roaster John now hand roasts in small batches across a range of over twenty offerings. The company has grown to eight café locations spread between Glasgow and Inverness. They also run a wholesale supply business providing beans, brew bags, and equipment to cafés, restaurants, and hotels, partnering with San Remo for espresso machines and Mahlkönig for grinders.
