About This Coffee

This coffee comes from the Gasharu Washing Station in Wimana, Nyamasheke-Gatare district of Rwanda's Western Province, near Lake Kivu and Nyangwe Forest National Park. It is produced by over 1,075 smallholder farmers at altitudes between 1600-2100 meters. The coffee is made from Bourbon variety cherries that undergo natural processing: hand-picked at peak ripeness, fermented anaerobically in sealed tanks for 72 hours, then sun-dried on raised African beds for 30-40 days until reaching 12% humidity. The cup delivers bold, bright fruit character with juicy mango sweetness, lively raspberry brightness, and refreshing kiwi tang, balanced by wine-like sweetness and a smooth, clean finish.

UE Coffee Roasters

UE Coffee Roasters was founded in 2009 by Dominic Boyett in Witney, Oxfordshire, with the roastery established in 2012. The team brings over 50 years of combined experience in specialty coffee and roasts Monday through Friday at their production facility, which is visible to visitors through the adjoining roastery café. They source from 58 farms through direct, long standing trading relationships, and every wholesale partner receives on site quality control visits every six weeks. Beyond roasting, the business offers SCA barista training courses, equipment rental programmes, loose leaf tea blending, and a white label roasting service. All packaging is 100% recyclable, and the company works with machine partners including Victoria Arduino, Conti, Rocket, and Mahlkonig.
