This coffee is from the Gakenke region in North Province, Rwanda, grown at 1,800-2,100 meters altitude. It is produced at the Nkara washing station, part of the Dukunde Kawa Musasa Cooperative. The coffee is Bourbon variety, fully washed processed. This is a Soil Project lot, produced using organic compost made from coffee cherry pulp mixed with fallen leaves and rice bran, applied twice yearly to improve soil fertility. The flavor profile features mandarin-like gentle acidity and sweetness, apricot tea notes, and elegant cocoa-like chocolate flavors with brown sugar undertones.
Onibus Coffee is a Japanese specialty coffee roastery and café brand founded in Tokyo in 2012 by Atsushi Sakao, who trained as a barista in Australia and was inspired to bring high-quality coffee culture back to Japan. The name Onibus reflects Sakao’s vision of coffee shops as community hubs that connect people, much like a bus connects places. Under his leadership, Onibus sources and roasts high-quality single-origin beans and blends with a focus on traceability, sustainability, and hospitable service.
