This single-origin washed coffee is grown at Shyira in Nyabihu District, Western Province, Rwanda at 2000 meters altitude. The Nzinza variety, originally developed in Colombia for cup quality and disease resistance, thrives exceptionally well in Rwandan conditions. The traditional washed processing includes hand sorting, pulping, 12-hour fermentation with foot agitation in concrete tanks, density sorting through serpentine channels, and 30-day raised bed drying. Tasting notes feature tropical aromatics of lychee and guava with bright acidity reminiscent of blackcurrant, lime, and guava juice, complemented by chamomile florals, butter biscuit richness, fig, dates, and warm spiced herbal notes.

Scenery Coffee Roasters was founded in London in 2023 by a trio with a combined three decades of experience in the specialty coffee industry. They roast on a Loring S35, producing on set days and holding coffee in airtight bulk storage before bagging, a workflow designed around freshness and consistency. Sourcing is forward looking: Scenery works with importers to purchase coffee early while it is still at origin, releasing lots as they land in the UK. All furniture in the space is upcycled, and the approach to materials follows the same minimal intervention philosophy that guides the roasting. Scenery was named a Sprudge Notable Roaster for 2025 and won Sprudge Best Design/Packaging in 2024.
