Natural processed Ethiopia coffee from Bensa region at 2300 meters elevation, produced by Nguisse Nare and Murago Outgrowers at the Setame farm. Features the 74158 landrace variety, grown intercropped with taro and sweet potato. Light roasted whole bean with vibrant notes of green grape, pineapple, and white tea florals. The coffee is floated and dried slowly on raised beds over 20 days.
Founded in 2020 at the onset of the COVID 19 pandemic, Moonwake Coffee Roasters emerged from the passion of two former tech engineers, Ming Wood from Tesla and Mabel Yeung from Meta. What began as Ming's personal coffee project within Tesla's internal coffee club evolved into a full roastery operation after both founders chose to leave their tech careers to pursue coffee full time between 2023 and 2024. Moonwake represents a growing movement of technologists who discovered that coffee roasting offers greater fulfillment than their previous careers, channeling engineering precision into specialty coffee.
