This Colombian decaf coffee is from the Huila region, grown at altitudes between 1200-2000 meters above sea level. The coffee is washed processed and decaffeinated using the ethyl acetate method. It features juicy tart acidity with toffee and lemon flavors. The coffee was formerly called "Decaf De Caña".
Zach and Denise Gamza opened Empower Coffee Roasters in April 2020 in Mesa, Arizona, building a 700 square foot facility that houses the roastery, a small kitchen, and front of house seating. Roasting runs on a 5 pound machine made by Arizona based Buckeye Coffee Roasters, with green coffee sourced through Cafe Femenino and Cafe Imports. Five percent of all sales go to nonprofits supporting women and girls through education and career development, including a partnership with the Live and Learn organization in Arizona. The woman owned operation sources specifically from women run coffee farms around the world.
