Pierre Café

Pierre is a second generation family roastery in Gravina in Puglia, inland from Bari in the Apulia region, run and operated by brothers Luigi and Vincenzo Paternoster alongside their family. Head roaster Luigi Paternoster has appeared on the podium of the Italian Coffee Roasting Championship in three consecutive years, bringing competitive recognition to a business rooted in family tradition. The specialty line operates under the Son of Coffee brand, a micro roastery project that focuses on roasted specialty coffees distinct from their high quality traditional offerings. This dual approach lets the Paternoster brothers serve both the established Italian espresso market and the growing demand for traceable, specialty grade coffee from a single family operation. Their position in Puglia, a region not typically associated with Italy's specialty coffee movement, makes this a notable outpost for craft roasting in the south.
