This coffee is produced by smallholder farmers in Tanzania whose farms sit in the shade of Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa. Coffee has been grown in Tanzania since the 16th Century, originally by the Haya tribe in the Northwest. The beans are produced by Sucafina Tanzania, who invest in improved agricultural techniques and sustainability for their member producers. This is a premium AA grade coffee from the Kilimanjaro region.
Adams & Russell has been roasting coffee in Birkenhead, near Liverpool, since 1978. They use small batch flame roasting methods, hand roasting specialty grade Arabica from origins spanning nearly every coffee growing country. Their Peninsula Blend earned two Gold Stars at the Great Taste Awards. The company is both a registered Fairtrade Foundation Operator and a roaster of Rainforest Alliance certified coffees. In 2016 they opened a Coffee School with a dedicated espresso room for SCA certified barista training. They also supply wholesale clients with equipment from La Marzocco and Mahlkönig alongside their beans.
