Washed SL28 & SL34 – Mutwewathi, Kenya

Standout Coffee

About This Coffee

This is an exceptional Kenyan AA lot from the Mutwewathi Factory in Nyeri County, situated on the eastern slopes of the Aberdare Ranges at 1750 meters altitude. Produced by approximately 750 smallholder members of the New Gikaru Farmer Cooperative Society, this coffee is made from SL28 and SL34 varieties. The cherries undergo traditional Kenyan fully washed processing, including 12-16 hours of fermentation and 7-21 days of drying on raised beds. The cup displays layered fruit sweetness with crisp acidity, showing notes of red currant, mandarin orange, pomelo zest, a juicy body, and crisp rhubarb-like acidity with a long, complex finish.
