Reykjavík Roasters traces its origins to Kaffismiðja Íslands, a cafe and roastery founded in 2008 by Ingibjörg Jóna Sigurðardóttir and Sonja Grant. In late August 2013 the business was relaunched as Reykjavík Roasters under Torfi Þór Torfason, Tumi Ferrer, and Þuríður Sverrisdóttir, who sharpened its focus on specialty coffee and direct sourcing. The roastery has since become one of Iceland's most recognized names in specialty coffee, with a commitment to showcasing the character of each origin through careful, light to medium roasting.
