This Ethiopian single origin coffee comes from the Koke Cooperative in the Yirgacheffe region at 1,980 meters altitude. The cooperative represents around 1,200 farmers who are part of the Yirgacheffe Coffee Farmers Cooperative Union (YCFCU). The coffee is grown in shady forest gardens using traditional cultivation methods. Coffee cherries are harvested and sorted by hand, then processed using the washed method - separated from pulp, washed, and sun-dried with regular turning. The beans are local Ethiopian landraces (100% Arabica). The coffee features fruity, vanilla, and ripe berry flavor notes with a mild, harmonious, and complex profile. It is drum roasted in Berlin and certified organic by DE-ÖKO-001.
