Buku Abel is a washing station in the Guji zone, specifically in the Hambela Wamena area, established in 2019. The coffee is sourced from around 500 smallholder farmers with farms of 0.5–2 hectares, growing traditional Ethiopian Heirloom varieties under semi-forest and garden cultivation systems at 1,900–2,100 meters altitude. Processed as a natural (dry process), the cherries are dried slowly on raised African beds. Flavor notes include tropical fruit, stone fruit, chocolate, winey, and sweet characteristics.
A Trondheim-based roastery founded in 2018 by industry veterans, focusing on showcasing the bean's origin by not letting the roast profile overpower its natural qualities.
