This coffee is from Hacienda El Rodeo in Curití, Santander region, Colombia. The farm was established in 2011 by Alfonso Reyes and his son Cristian Reyes on previously abandoned land. The coffee is grown at 1,900 to 2,200 meters altitude using shade-grown methods with native trees and plantain. This is a Castillo variety coffee, double fermented for 36 hours - first as whole cherry, then wet fermentation after depulping, followed by 15 days of drying on beds. The cupping score is 85. Tasting notes include chocolate, panela (raw sugar), citric and spices, with additional notes of stone fruit, yellow fruits, and a fruity cola aroma.
