About This Coffee

This Colombian decaffeinated coffee is sourced through Sucafina Colombia's integrated supply chain. The Tumbaga Sugarcane Decaf is decaffeinated using ethyl acetate (EA), a naturally occurring compound derived from sugarcane. The sourcing follows harvest times, typically from Tolima or Cauca during summer months and from Antioquia or Eje Cafetero regions in winter. The coffee is selected for high body, high sweetness, and low acidity before decaffeination. The flavor profile features molasses, red apple, caramel, lemon, soft tobacco, and macadamia, creating a balanced, chocolatey, and sweet cup.

Way Coffee Roasters

WAY Coffee Roasters was founded in Ghent in 2013 by Charlene De Buysere and Stoffel Vandenabeele, making them pioneers of the city's specialty coffee movement. Their roasting philosophy is centered on transparency and celebrating the bean's origin, which is why they prefer lighter roasts. This method allows the nuanced and delicate flavors developed at the farm level to truly shine through.
