Decaf Kolumbien Cauca Caldono

Decaf Kolumbien Cauca Caldono

Herr Hase Kaffeerösterei

About This Coffee

A decaffeinated single origin coffee from the Caldono area in the Cauca region of Colombia, sourced from several smallholder farmers. Varieties include Castillo, Caturra, and Colombia. Decaffeination is achieved using the Sugar Cane process (ethyl acetate from fermented sugar), which extracts caffeine while preserving the flavor profile. Tasting notes include chocolate and caramel. Suitable for all brewing methods. The bean color appears noticeably darker than non-decaf beans at a comparable roast profile, due to the green coffee being decaffeinated before roasting. Sourced via Cafe Imports Europe.

Herr Hase Kaffeerösterei

Sven Hasenclever, descended from an old baker family, founded Herr Hase Kaffeerösterei in mid 2014, establishing the roastery on the idyllic Hof Suttarp at Ottmarsbocholter Strasse 117 in Münster Amelsbüren. Rather than chasing a sprawling portfolio, Hasenclever deliberately keeps his coffee selection manageable, concentrating his energy on getting the absolute best out of each green coffee he sources. Every batch is roasted fresh in small quantities, ensuring the beans reach customers at peak flavor. Three signature blends carry names drawn from Masematte, the local Münster dialect: Seegers, Kaline, and Lorenz, each reflecting a different flavor profile. Alongside these, carefully chosen single origins with distinctive aromas round out an offering that prioritizes depth and quality over breadth.
