This coffee is from Finca El Jaragual in Amalfi, Antioquia, Colombia at 1500 MASL. It is a blend of 60% Variedad Colombia and 40% Castillo, processed using a washed method with thermal shock and yeast inoculation. The process involves 24-hour anoxic fermentation in cherry, pulping, reduced mucilage fermentation, wine yeast inoculation, and a cold wash. The result is an espresso with sweet melon, papaya and milk chocolate aromatics, prominent cranberry red-fruit notes, raspberry ripple ice-cream acidity, and crème brûlée caramel undertones with tropical fruit background.
Scenery Coffee Roasters was founded in London in 2023 by a trio with a combined three decades of experience in the specialty coffee industry. They roast on a Loring S35, producing on set days and holding coffee in airtight bulk storage before bagging, a workflow designed around freshness and consistency. Sourcing is forward looking: Scenery works with importers to purchase coffee early while it is still at origin, releasing lots as they land in the UK. All furniture in the space is upcycled, and the approach to materials follows the same minimal intervention philosophy that guides the roasting. Scenery was named a Sprudge Notable Roaster for 2025 and won Sprudge Best Design/Packaging in 2024.
