About This Coffee

The Black Hat Espresso Classic is a blend of 70% Arabica and 30% Robusta beans, roasted exclusively in Germany using a slow drum-roasting process of approximately 20 minutes at 220°C. It features a strong, low-acid espresso profile with a firm, light-brown crema. Flavor notes highlight nut and wood aromas. Suitable for fully automatic machines and portafilter/espresso machines.

Black Hat Coffee was founded in Hamburg in 2018 by Inna and Slava Zamikhovska, a Ukrainian couple who turned a desire for something tangible and beautiful into a standout specialty coffee brand. Every coffee they roast starts at 85 points on the SCA scale, slow-roasted for over 20 minutes in a drum roaster to preserve each bean's unique profile. What sets them apart is the fusion of coffee with design, music, and culture — their packaging is inspired by suit fabric patterns, and vinyl records spin in their elegantly designed espresso bars. They opened a second location in Berlin in 2025, expanding their concept of timeless elegance meets exceptional coffee.
