Strangers Coffee

Strangers Coffee was established in 2009 in Norwich by Alex Sargeant and Samuel Maddocks, with William Maddocks joining the team in 2014 to form a trio of brothers at the helm. The roastery operates from Dove Street in the centre of Norwich, supplying four locations across the city including their original Pottergate café. Alex has been named in the top 15 of the UK Barista Championships twice, and the business has been recognised among the top nine specialty coffee shops in the country. Every coffee is sampled before the green beans are purchased and profiled on a sample roaster before any quantity is committed. After roasting, each batch goes through colour readings, solubility checks, and taste analysis to maintain consistency. Their Fine City Blend, named after Norwich's nickname, was the first blend they created and has since won a Great Taste Award.
