Kava FamilyAbout This Coffee
Ethiopia Sidamo Bombe is sourced from the Ayla washing station in the Shantawene region of Sidamo, established in 2018 by Faysel Abdosh under his company Testi Specialty Coffee. About 800 smallholder farmers contribute cherry from plots averaging 0.5 hectares at altitudes of 1,950–2,000 meters above sea level. The varieties are JARC 74110 and JARC 74158. Ripe red cherry is selectively handpicked, pulped, and fermented for 36–48 hours before being washed and dried on raised beds. Tasting notes include peach iced tea, tangerine, and jasmine.

Kava Family
Founded by wedding photographers Ivana and Marko, Kava Family began with a single derelict space on Hvar island transformed into cafe Kava 37 before expanding to Split's mainland market. Their team includes Q Grader and coffee buyer Tobias Berg, who sources directly from Latin American origins after extensive travel through producing regions. The brand's visual identity reflects Hvar's landscape—green for vegetation, yellow for Mediterranean houses, blue for the Adriatic—creating a distinctly Croatian coffee aesthetic focused on community building and quality sourcing.
