This Fairtrade certified coffee is from the Mantiqueira de Minas region in the south of Minas Gerais, Brazil, grown at 1200 meters altitude. The coffee is Yellow Catuai variety, processed using the natural method. It features tasting notes of dark chocolate, red berry, and vanilla. The region has a centuries-old tradition in coffee growing, with ideal climate and environment for specialty coffee production. Over 80% of producers are small farmers who have been awarded in recognized quality concourses, including world record scores in Cup of Excellence.
Adams & Russell has been roasting coffee in Birkenhead, near Liverpool, since 1978. They use small batch flame roasting methods, hand roasting specialty grade Arabica from origins spanning nearly every coffee growing country. Their Peninsula Blend earned two Gold Stars at the Great Taste Awards. The company is both a registered Fairtrade Foundation Operator and a roaster of Rainforest Alliance certified coffees. In 2016 they opened a Coffee School with a dedicated espresso room for SCA certified barista training.
