This coffee is from Nueva Granada, a 675-hectare farm located in El Tumbador, San Marcos region, Guatemala, nestled between the Tajumundo and Tacana volcanoes. Grown at altitudes between 1450-1600 meters, this washed Laurina variety features prominent chocolate tasting notes. The farm is owned by the Nottebohm family, now in their third generation since 1984. The farm utilizes Eco Processers for water-efficient milling and maintains over 10% of the land as dedicated wild forest. Both wet and dry milling are carried out on the farm for quality control.
Adams & Russell has been roasting coffee in Birkenhead, near Liverpool, since 1978. They use small batch flame roasting methods, hand roasting specialty grade Arabica from origins spanning nearly every coffee growing country. Their Peninsula Blend earned two Gold Stars at the Great Taste Awards. The company is both a registered Fairtrade Foundation Operator and a roaster of Rainforest Alliance certified coffees. In 2016 they opened a Coffee School with a dedicated espresso room for SCA certified barista training. They also supply wholesale clients with equipment from La Marzocco and Mahlkönig alongside their beans.
